日本名を中村和文さんとおっしゃいます。
彼は画家として、絵画を通じて台湾の独立を訴えるとともに、これを鼓舞する歌を作曲されています。
現在台湾にある台湾独立関連の歌は、全て彼によって作曲されたものです。

以前から中国は、「台湾は中国の一部である」と言っており、そして現在中国は「尖閣諸島も中国の一部である」と言っています。
私達台湾人は、それは事実に反することと認識しています。
しかし、この暴挙的言い分を阻止しなければ、将来中国は「沖縄も中国の一部である」と言いかねません。
どうぞあなたの周りの人に伝えてください。
「台湾人は日本を応援します」と。
台湾人が侵略の影での生活を強いられ、すでに66年が経ちます。
それ故、私達台湾人は邪悪な隣人に嚇される感覚をよく理解しています。
台湾は辛い立場に置かれていますが、台湾人はやはり対抗しなければなりません。
台湾人は絶対に中国には投降しないとの決意を鼓舞するために、私はビデオ「通りかかった波止場にて」を製作しました。

また、日本の皆さんに、台湾人は中国ではなく日本を応援する心を持っていることを判っていただきたいと思います。
中国は世界で最も日本を敵視する国家であり、台湾は日本にとって最も友好的な国家です。
中国に傾きつつある台湾は、日本の国家利益とはなり得ません！アメリカも日本も台湾を国家として認めていないため、台湾人の闘志は徐々に失われつつあり、すでに中国に傾きつつあるのです。
あなたと、そしてあなたの友人にぜひお願いします。
日本政府に要求してください、「日本と台湾は正式に国交を結ぶべきだ」と。

台湾人には、
「People on Taiwan」と、
「People of Taiwan」とがあります。
現在の台湾の人口は約2,300万人です。
このうち、約４分の３にあたる約1,725万人は、元々台湾に住んでいた人達です。
この人達が「People of Taiwan」です。
一方、台湾には、大東亜戦争終結後に支那大陸から入って来た人達がいます。
人口の約４分の１にあたる約575万人です。
この人達は「People on Taiwan」です。
この区別は現地台湾の人達にとって、大変重要な意味を持ちます。
要するに台湾における親日派の人達は、「People of Taiwan」であり、東日本大震災に際して多額の義捐金を送って下さったのも、この方達です。
そして、この「People of Taiwan」の方達こそ、大東亜戦争終結以来、外来人(主として支那国民党）に苦しめられ続けて来た人達なのです。
これだけの人口差がありながら、台湾がいまだに占領から独立できないのは、旧国民党の連中が、台湾の政治、メディアを牛耳っていることによります。
戦前、日本となり、日本人として大東亜戦争を戦った原台湾人の皆様は、いまも日本とともに歩むことを希望しています。
「台湾はね、待ってるんですよ。
連合艦隊は必ず来る、日本は必ず立ち直って台湾を助けに来る、信じてるんです。」
これは台湾出身の鄭春河さんの遺稿の言葉です。

決議文（2012/5/7）（要約）
米国が台湾の正常な外交関係を再開するべきであるという決意を示すこと。
台湾は、20年前に民主主義政治を確立しました。
その時以来、台湾では５回の大統領選挙、および議会選挙、多数の地方選挙、および２回の国民投票を行ないました。
台湾は中華人民共和国の統治権の下にあったことがありません。
しかし、中華人民共和国は「一つの中国」を標榜し、「台湾が中共の一部である」と主張しています。
中華人民共和国は国連と世界保健機構からオリンピックまで、台湾の国際組織と競技の会員資格および全面参加を認めてもいません。
台湾は、半世紀以上独立したおよび主権国として機能しているという明白な現実があります。
米国が外交関係を持っていないのは、世界の他の数少ない国々（ブータン、キューバ、イランおよび北朝鮮）です。
米国は1979年まで台湾との外交関係を維持しましたが、ジミー・カーター前大統領は1979年の台湾と外交関係を切断しました。
けれど一方、ロナルド・レーガン前大統領によって、1982年7月に台湾への「6つの保証」が出され、米国政府は台湾に関する中共の主権を認ておりません。
そこで以下の２つを下院(上院2、同調)で可決しました。
１ 大統領は、「一つの中国政策」より、現実的「1つの中国、1つの台湾」の政策を採るべきである。
台湾を主権者および独立した国と認め、非民主的なものから分離すること。
２ 米国政府は、台湾を国連および他の任意の国際期間のメンバーとして迎えること。

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of Congress that the United Statesshould resume normal diplomatic relations with Taiwan,and for other purposes.
Whereas the people of Taiwan have established a vibrant and pluralistic democracy only 20 years ago;
Whereas since then, the people of Taiwan have conducted five successful presidential elections, successive elections for members of their national legislature, numerous local elections, and two national referendums;
Whereas Taiwan has never been under the jurisdiction of the People’s Republic of China, which continues to illegit-imatelyclaim sovereignty over Taiwan and its 23,000,000 citizens;

Whereas the Shanghai Communique, which maintains that there is ‘‘One China’’ and that ‘‘Taiwan is part of China’’, was established without the consultation of Congress or the people of Taiwan;
Whereas the People’s Republic of China has since used the ‘‘One China Policy’’ to block Taiwan’s membership and full participation in international organizations and events, ranging from the United Nations and the World Health Organization to the Olympics;
Whereas the ‘‘One China Policy’’ is effectively obsolete, and does not the reflect the obvious reality that Taiwan has functioned as an independent and sovereign country for over half a century;
Whereas the only other countries in the world with which the United States does not have diplomatic relations are Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, and North Korea;
Whereas Taiwan maintains diplomatic, cultural, and eco-nomic relations with several countries around the world;
Whereas Taiwan and the United States maintained formal diplomatic relations until 1979;
Whereas former President Jimmy Carter severed diplomatic ties with the Taiwan in 1979 and terminated the Mutual Defense Treaty between the United States and Taiwan without consulting or seeking the approval of Congress;
Whereas Congress responded later that year by adopting the Taiwan Relations Act, codifying in law the basis for con-tinued friendly relations between the United States and Taiwan;
Whereas former President Ronald Reagan issued the ‘‘Six Assurances’’ to Taiwan in July 1982, including the as-VerDate Mar 15 2HCON 122 IH 3 surance that ‘‘[t]he United States would not formally rec-ognize Chinese sovereignty over Taiwan.’’;
Whereas both the Taiwan Relations Act and the Six Assur-ancesform the cornerstone of United States-Taiwan rela-tions; and
Whereas Taiwan has been a steadfast ally of the United States and a responsible and compassionate member of the world community: Now, therefore, be it
1 Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That it is the sense of Congress that—
(1) the President should abandon the fun-damentally flawed ‘‘One China Policy’’ in favor of a more realistic ‘‘One China, One Taiwan Policy’’ that recognizes Taiwan as a sovereign and independent country, separate from the undemocratic Govern-ment of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing;
(2) the President should begin the process of resuming normal diplomatic relations with Taiwan; and
(3) the President, the Permanent Representa-tive of the United States to the United Nations, and other relevant United States officials should aggres-sively support Taiwan’s full participation in the United Nations and any other international organi-zation of which the United States is a member,
